Goldey-Beacom Softball concurred a tough doubleheader sweep from Lock Haven, 0-2 and 0-6.
In a fierce duel of starting pitchers, game one featured a total of six hits.
The Lightning made it interesting in the seventh inning with a bases loaded opportunity, but Bekah Slattery (14-4) finished the job on the mound for the Bald Eagles. She retired 13 batters in seven innings and allowed one hit.
Taylor Beres (1-13), the freshman from Middletown, DE, pitched six innings while giving up one earned run and five hits in the loss.
Lock Haven's Moriah Lindsey recorded two hits making her the only player to get multiple hits in the game.
Game two resulted in another shutout win for Lock Haven (30-10).
Kayla Gee provided another outstanding pitching performance for the Bald Eagles. She pitched seven innings while striking out nine batters and allowing two hits. Casey Carpenter showcased the best hitting performance of the day going 3-for-4 with three RBIs from the plate.
Alexa Calareso (0-8), the junior from Millville, NJ, took the loss on the mound for the Lightning.
Goldey-Beacom (3-30) plays its next doubleheader at Chestnut Hill on Wednesday. The first game of the CACC matchup will start at 2:30 pm.
