Goldey-Beacom's outstanding Women's Tennis season was adorned with more accolades as five of its student-athletes were named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Senior Manuela Cornejo (Quito, Ecuador) was honored for a third time, juniors Anna Hortelano Pey (Castelldefels, Spain) and Alma Garcia Valle (Valladolid, Spain) made it a second time with sophomore Catarina Zheng (Oporto, Portugal) and junior Silvia Hortelano Pey (Castelldefels, Spain) getting their first award.

Cornejo posted four doubles victories this season that included a pair of triumphs with Anna Hortelano Pey at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Regional and a pair with Garcia Valle in league play. She also had two singles triumphs, including one at the ITA East Regional.

Anna Hortelano Pey went 8-1 in doubles this season, including 6-0 in the league, and puts her 10th in school history with 28 career wins. The first team all-league pick from 2016 and 2017 also amassed six singles wins, including five in a row to start the season, and now is ninth in team annals with 31 victories.

Garcia Valle saw her play this fall limited due to injury, but she still recorded three doubles wins plus a singles victory during the qualifying round of the ITA East Regional. She was picked second team all-league in 2016.

Zheng was picked first team all-conference a second straight year competing at second singles and first doubles. She went 13-2 at doubles with sophomore and CACC Player of the Year Lotte Lesscher y Post (Arnhem, Netherlands), which included a trip to the ITA East Regional final, and 10-2 in singles with all of the wins in straight sets. Zheng is tied for eighth in team history with 29 doubles wins and 10th outright with 28 singles victories.

Silvia Hortelano Pey recorded six doubles wins that included five at second doubles and a four-match winning streak during which she dropped just four games. She is seventh in team annals with 30 doubles triumphs.

Goldey-Beacom (8-2, 7-1 CACC) this season captured at least a share of the league's regular-season crown for a third straight year and was making its 11th straight appearance in the conference semifinals. The Lightning, who have played in the NCAA Tournament seven times, also have won 24 of their last 25 regular-season league matches.
