Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Ends Season with 3-0 Loss to Concordia (NY)

Goldey-Beacom looked to go into the offseason on a high note, but instead was handed a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference setback by Concordia (NY) at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE to end the campaign.

The Clippers in the seventh minute scored the only goal they would need as Marlon Buck put home a 10-yard shot off a great pass from John Reed for his team-leading 14th goal of the season.  Dennis Limani made it 2-0 in the 37th minute, getting a through ball from Elad Katz and tallying a five-yard shot for his sixth goal of the year.

Katz netted a penalty kick with seven seconds left in the first half for his second goal of the season and the final.

Sophomore Eduardo Coimbra (Curitiba, Brazil) attempted six shots for the Lightning (4-11-2, 3-5-2 CACC), who owned a 19-14 shots edge.

Buck recorded five shots and Jaime Gonzalez came up with seven saves for the Clippers (6-7-2, 6-5-1), who clinched the fifth seed for next week's CACC Tournament.

This marks the end of a great career for senior Chahin Aghrim (Bonn, Germany), who last season was picked first team All-America, first team CoSIDA Academic All-America, first team all-league and to the CACC All-Tournament team.  The standout midfielder, who also was named first team All-CACC and CoSIDA Academic All-District in 2016, finishes second in team history with 28 assists, fourth with 68 points and fifth with 20 goals.

The career for senior goalkeeper Suhail Bismilla (Johannesburg, South Africa), a vocal presence whose leadership will be missed, also comes to an end after being picked third team CoSIDA Academic All-America last year and first team all-league the last two seasons.  He ends his time first in team history with 14 shutouts, second with 279 saves and third with a 1.51 GAA.
