Another incredible season for Goldey-Beacom's Women's Tennis team produced more accolades with Lotte Lesscher y Post (Arnhem, Netherlands) named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year and fellow sophomore Catarina Zheng (Oporto, Portugal) also picked first team all-league.

Lesscher y Post's honor comes one year after she was picked second team all-league and the conference tournament's Most Outstanding Player.  It is the third time Goldey-Beacom has had a Player of the Year with Stephanie Puentes Robinson getting the honor in 2011 and 2012.

Zheng last season also was picked first team all-conference in addition to making the league's all-tournament team.

Lesscher y Post has had yet another solid campaign in which she has teamed with Zheng at first doubles for a 12-2 record.  This includes the duo going 7-1 in conference play and reaching the final of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Regional.  The two started the year with a five-match winning streak and later enjoyed a six-match winning streak.

Lesscher y Post also is 8-2 in singles this season, including 7-1 in dual matches at first singles.  She made it to the third round of the ITA East Regional and just posted a victory Sunday over Karla Miletic from University of the Sciences, the league's Player of the Year each of the two previous seasons.

Zheng and Lesscher y Post are tied for eighth in school history with 28 doubles wins.  Lesscher y Post also has 20 singles triumphs.

Zheng also is in the midst of another formidable season, going 9-2 in singles and 8-1 at second singles.  She made the third round of the ITA East Regional and all of her victories this fall have come in straight sets.

Zheng is 10th in school history with 27 singles wins.

Goldey-Beacom (8-1, 7-1 CACC) enters the CACC Tournament as the two-time defending champion and just clinched its third straight regular-season crown.  The squad has won 24 of its last 25 CACC regular-season matches and has played in the NCAA Tournament seven times.  It also is making its 11th appearance in the CACC Tournament, all have resulted in at least a berth in the semifinals.

GBC is the number two seed and will play in the semifinals this Saturday against the winner of Tuesday's first-round match between third-seeded Concordia (NY) and sixth-seeded Jefferson.  Saturday's match will take place at 1:00 pm in Middlebury, CT, which follows the first semifinal between top-seeded Wilmington (DE) and either No. 4 USciences or No. 5 Post.
