Women’s Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw at East Stroudsburg

Goldey-Beacom battled the rain and East Stroudsburg on the soccer pitch with the first and the last playing to a 1-1 stalemate in East Stroudsburg, PA.

The Lightning (2-0-1) in the 66th minute worked for a foul in the box and were awarded an attempt from the spot.  Senior Amy Runciman (Luton, England) was called upon again to come through and tallied for her sixth career penalty-kick goal and second this season.

The lead only lasted until the 75th minute.  The Warriors' Molly Vicari took a pass 35 yards out from Jules Sicker and buried her first goal of the year for a 1-1 tie.

Freshman Alanna Speaks (Wilmington, DE) attempted three shots and junior Marta Lopez (Valencia, Spain) amassed five saves over 110 minutes for the Lightning.

Sammi Ortiz and Jessica Woodbyrne notched four shots apiece and Jules Harris had a save for the Warriors (1-1-1).

Goldey-Beacom on Saturday visits Concordia (NY) as part of a doubleheader with the men's team.  The women's match starts at noon and the men play after 2:15 pm.
