The awards keep coming in for Goldey-Beacom's men's soccer team as junior midfielder Chahin Aghrim (Bonn, Germany) was tabbed first team Conference Commissioner's Association All-East Region and senior defender Declyn Brown (Glasgow, Scotland) was tabbed second team.

Aghrim put forth yet another solid campaign in being tabbed first team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and CoSIDA Academic All-District, both for a second straight year.  He is first in the nation with 15 assists, third with 0.76 assists per game, 10th with 37 points and recorded a point in 15 contests this season.

A creative player in many facets, Aghrim will enter his senior campaign looking to even further climb the ladder in the school rankings.  He is third in school history with 24 assists, sixth with 17 goals and fifth with 58 points.  Aghrim's 15 assists this year are tied with Matt DiGiacobbe for the College's single-season mark, established in 2003.

Brown was the center back for what all season was an unbelievably solid defense with seemingly no weaknesses.  A valuable player and leader on and off the field, he helped spark a defense which is 44th in the nation with a .391 shutout percentage and 52nd with a 1.06 goals against average.

This is the same defense which recorded nine shutouts and 14 games in which the squad did not permit more than one goal.

Goldey-Beacom (17-5-1, 9-2-1 CACC) this season captured its second CACC title and competed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.  The squad upended 10th-ranked Merrimack in the first round, becoming the College's first male team to win a head-to-head NCAA Tournament game.

GBC also broke the school record for most victories overall and in conference before playing on a national stage for the first time since competing in the 2002 NAIA National Tournament.  The Lightning also had a 10-game unbeaten streak (9-0-1) and a four-game shutout streak that both are school records.
