Goldey-Beacom gave up the deciding run early in the second half and could not recover in a 79-69 loss at Shepherd in Shepherdstown, WV.

Goldey-Beacom at halftime found itself in a 40-37 hole despite limiting Shepherd to just 38 percent shooting (13-of-34).  Senior Britani Bryson (Hampton, VA) netted 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting for the Lightning and Morgan Arden scored 12 points for the Rams.

Shepherd poured in seven consecutive points out of the gate for a 47-37 lead, but GBC got the next five for a 47-42 deficit with 6:04 left in the third quarter.  Junior Tanner Turner-Rush (Harrisburg, PA) scored all five points in that span, ending it on a 3-pointer.

But the Rams scored the next seven points in just under three minutes for a 54-42 cushion with 3:23 to go in the period.  Arden began things with a 3-pointer and Jazmyne Howard ended it on a jumper.

Bryson scored 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting to go with six rebounds.  Sophomore Amanda McGrogan (Mount Laurel, NJ), named this week to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll, poured in 16 points and Turner-Rush netted 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting for the Lightning (1-2).

Kayla Tibbs scored 20 points, Kari Lankford had 19 points and eight rebounds, Arden netted 18 points and Tiffany McKinney poured in 10 for the Rams (3-0), who shot 41 percent (26-of-63) from the floor with 10 three-pointers.
