Women’s Tennis Handed 7-2 Loss by Slippery Rock

Goldey-Beacom made the trek to Bloomsburg, PA for a non-conference tie and was handed a 7-2 loss by Slippery Rock.
 
Freshman Merel Ann van Zanten (Velserbroek, Netherlands) was the Lightning's lone singles victory in grabbing a 6-2, 6-4 triumph over Stephanie Fortier.  It was her 15th singles win this season, putting her in sole possession of sixth place on the school's single-season list.
 
Van Zanten and junior Nina Sengl (Puchheim, Germany) amassed a 9-8 triumph over Carla Corrochano and Tiffany Kollah.
 
Goldey-Beacom (7-6) is in action Thursday at the District of Columbia, starting at 2:00 pm.
