Women's Cross Country Ends Third at GBC Fall Classic

Senior Aaron Easter (Elkton, MD) notched his first career victory in capturing the GBC Fall Classic, helping Goldey-Beacom take the team title at Carousel Park in Wilmington, DE.

The women finished the race in third place.

Easter had the lead at almost every marker and cruised with a time of 28:34.48, winning by 35 seconds over Ethan Fadale of Philadelphia University. Senior Logan Jones (Frederick, MD) was fourth in 29:46.64, sophomore Victor Rueda-Jimenez (Milford, DE) ended fifth in 29:56.99, junior Rudy Braxton (Bear, DE) closed sixth in 29:59.40 and senior Jonathan Mbwiri (Newark, DE) finished 11th in 31:16.81.

On the women's side, Jordan Dodson (Port Deposit, MD) was eighth in 21:36.97, fellow sophomore Crystal McCollum (Elkton, MD) finished 13th in 21:58.59, Sarah Grzybowski (Wilmington, DE) closed 30th in 24:58.87, fellow senior Leshae Lee (Edgewood, MD) was 44th in 28:12.49 and freshman Kayla Lucas (Port Deposit, MD) ended 48th in 30:46.39.

GBC's men ended with 26 points, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference rival Philadelphia U. was second with 46 points and fellow-league-foe University of the Sciences closed third with 64 points.

Philadelphia U. captured the women's race with 20 points and University of the Sciences was second with 42 points.

Goldey-Beacom is in action next Friday at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University. The men race at 1:45 pm and the women go at 2:30 pm.
