Softball Falls Twice at Nyack

Goldey-Beacom was handed a pair of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference losses against Nyack, 2-1 and 4-1, in Orangeburg, NY
 
GBC in game one grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth when senior Asia Ellis (Marlton, NJ) cracked her first home run of the season and fourth career.
 
The Warriors tied things in the bottom of the frame when Kelsie Land led off with a home run to center field.  They took their first lead of the contest in the sixth as Elaina Vasquez scored off a throwing error.
 
Sophomore Charlee King (New Castle, DE) rapped two hits for the Lightning.  Tower City, PA freshman Kylie Doyle (1-7) was charged with an unearned run and one hit over two relief innings.
 
Nyack in game two scored three times to open a 3-0 lead as Aferdita Sinanaj lined an RBI single and Kim Yano laced a two-run single.
 
The Lightning got one back in the fifth on an RBI single from freshman Lauren Conway (Hammonton, NJ).
 
Anaheim, CA sophomore Paulynn Mao (1-2) struck out four over 2 2/3 innings, yielding three runs and five hits, and Conway ended with two hits.
 
Shelby Davidson (1-3) surrendered just one run and five hits over five innings and Yano struck out two over two scoreless frames for the save.  Victoria Triozzi rapped two hits.
 
Goldey-Beacom is home Sunday against Post, beginning at noon.  Please also note GBC's doubleheader against U. of the Sciences will be made up Friday at 2:00 pm in Wilmington, DE.
