Men’s Basketball Falls, 79-45, at Bloomfield



Goldey-Beacom was blitzed in the first half by solid shooting and was dealt a 79-45 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss by Bloomfield in Bloomfield, NJ.
 
The Bears opened a 46-20 lead at the break by shooting 53 percent (19-of-36) from the floor and holding the Lightning to only 27 percent (7-of-26).  Matt Hall scored 13 points in the half with three 3-pointers, Nick Davidson had nine points with Marvin Williams and Olatilewa Oyawusi adding seven apiece.
 
Sophomore Sameen Swint (Sicklerville, NJ) scored 15 points with senior Joey Getz (Philadelphia, PA) and freshman Emmanuel Nwude (Riverdale, MD) adding seven apiece for GBC, which shot 27 percent (16-of-60) from the floor.
 
Hall finished with 16 points, Davidson scored 15, Williams netted 15, Oyawusi scored 11 and Errol Townsend added 12 rebounds for the Bears (8-11, 7-5 CACC).
 
Goldey-Beacom (8-15, 5-10) is home Tuesday for a re-scheduled, non-conference game against Bridgeport, starting at 7:00 pm.
