A season full of promise sees Goldey-Beacom enter it picked to close fourth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's South Division based on a vote by the league's coaches.

Three of last year's four conference-tournament semifinalists reside in the South Division including defending champion Holy Family, which got nine first-place votes.  Bloomfield was the unanimous pick to claim the North Division as coaches are prohibited from voting on their own team.

The Lightning last season made the conference tournament a school-record sixth straight year and won 13 of their last 23 contests to close an impressive campaign.

GBC gets a massive boost this season with the return of sophomore guard Lexi Bruno (Millville, NJ), last year's CACC Rookie of the Year and a second team all-league honoree.  One of the most dynamic competitors who presents many options for the Lightning and many problems for their opponents, Bruno last season also was picked CACC Rookie of the Week four times and named to the league's Weekly Honor Roll four times.

Bruno last season broke the school's single-season records with 65 three-pointers and 146 assists, ended 24th in the country with a 2.0 assist-to-turnover ratio, 26th with 5.0 assists per game, 55th with a .380 three-point percentage, 78th with 2.24 three-pointers per contest and 96th with 16.1 points per game.  Her 65 three-pointers already are ninth in school history.

Sophomore Britani Bryson (Hampton, VA) made an immediate impact in the post last season, which helped her twice to be named CACC Rookie of the Week and once the Defensive Player of the Week.  She ended 28th in the CACC with 10.9 points per game, 15th with 7.2 rebounds per contest, fifth with 1.1 blocks per game, 16th with a .433 shooting percentage and ninth on the school's single-season list with 32 blocks.

Junior Jasmyne Lewis (Mount Holly, NJ) gives the Lightning great court awareness and is a multi-faceted competitor.  She closed 41st in the league with 4.1 rebounds per game, scored in double figures seven times and was fifth on the squad with 6.5 points per contest.

The squad is 10 victories shy of reaching 200 in program history.

Goldey-Beacom opens its season November 13 against Stonehill in Worcester, MA.
