Volleyball Falls, 3-0, to Wilmington (DE)



Goldey-Beacom faced a battle with Wilmington (DE) in its season finale and was dealt a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss (10-25, 18-25, 19-25) in Newark, DE.
 
The Lightning could not overcome nine errors in the first set and it was the Wildcats in the second who totaled 12 kills and only two errors.  GBC got 11 kills in the final set, but Wilmington amassed 14 with a .167 hitting percentage.
 
Senior Mackenzie Wilson (Wilmington, DE) had 11 digs in her final match and ends her career with 1,099 for the sixth-best total in school history.  Junior Grace McCarthy (Middletown, DE) recorded seven kills and seven digs with senior Innocent Early (Newark, NJ) also getting seven kills for GBC (7-21, 2-17).
 
Freshman Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) had 24 assists to close her year with 707.  That is the sixth-highest single-season total in school history and already is seventh in the Lightning's career record book.
 
Allison Briley had eight kills and a .375 percentage, Alex Siolos closed with seven and .417 to go with 16 assists, Miranda Shaw dished 15 assists and Shelby Henderson closed with 15 digs for the Wildcats (22-8, 15-4).
