Junior Nina Sengl (Puchheim, Germany), who has been a standout for Goldey-Beacom both on the court and in classroom, has been named the winner of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's Top XV Award.

Sengl sports a 4.0 GPA in Marketing Management and got the honor presented "to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the CACC championships."

It has been another solid campaign for Sengl, who has helped the Lightning (5-3, 4-3 CACC) reach the conference tournament an eighth straight season.  She has amassed a 6-3 singles mark that includes 5-2 at No. 3 singles and is 5-3 in doubles, including a 5-2 record at first doubles.

Sengl for her career has 28 singles victories that puts her eighth in school history and her 30 doubles wins has her sixth in team annals.

Last season, Sengl notched 14 doubles wins that was tied for the fourth best mark in school history and also posted eight singles victories.  That all helped GBC (18-5) close 31st in the country, end with a school record in victories, tie the school record with 10 shutouts and become the first program in school history to win a head-to-head NCAA Tournament contest in any sport.

Sengl is the third GBC student-athlete to earn this award since its creation in 2013-14.  Jabari Chambers from men's cross country won in the fall of 2013 and Patrick McRae from men's golf took it home last spring.

Goldey-Beacom is the fourth seed for the CACC Tournament and battles top-seeded Concordia (NY) on Saturday in the semifinals, starting at 10:00 am in Philadelphia.
