Volleyball Handed 3-0 Loss by Bloomfield

Goldey-Beacom ran into a near flawless performance from Bloomfield and was dealt a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss (16-25, 13-25, 21-25) at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The Bears in the first set pounded 13 kills versus only five errors for a .276 hitting percentage.  Valerie Bermudez had five kills in the set.
 
The second set was a masterpiece for Bloomfield, which had a .667 percentage thanks to 13 kills and just one error over 18 swings.  Bermudez had five kills and an .833 percentage with Diannmarie Rivera getting three kills and three aces.
 
Goldey-Beacom had 10 kills in the third set that included seven from junior Grace McCarthy (Middletown, DE), but Rivera posted four of her team's 11 kills in the stanza.
 
Rivera overall had 10 kills, a .368 percentage, nine digs and three aces for the Bears (12-3, 6-2 CACC).  Bermudez notched 10 kills, Edmarie Freyles dished 20 assists, Jacquelyn Madlock had 15 and Samantha Rios added nine digs.
 
Another story for Bloomfield was the fact it had 13 blocks, including a block solo and seven block assists from Alex Glasper.
 
Freshman Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) posted 22 assists and now has 397 for the season, which already puts her in 10th place on the school's career list.  McCarthy finished with 10 kills today and sophomore Shyanne Shank (Lebanon, PA) added eight for the Lightning (5-11, 1-7).
 
Goldey-Beacom is on the road Tuesday for a 7:00 pm match at Georgian Court.
