WILMINGTON, Del. - During the first four matches of the season, the Goldey-Beacom College women's tennis team has used a team effort to earn a victory.
Tuesday's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match against Philadelphia University at the Delcastle Tennis Center was no exception as the Lightning had six different players earn a win en route to a 7-2 victory over the Rams.
After claiming two of three doubles matches, the Lightning won five of six singles matches to secure their first five-match win streak since the 2010-11 season when they started the year with eight consecutive victories.
Three different Lightning players earned a singles win and a doubles win, including seniors
Stephanie Puentes Robinson (Bogota, Colombia) and
Filipa Correia (Monte Estoril, Portugal) along with sophomore
Maria Victoria (Totana, Spain).
