Women's Tennis Blanks Bowie State for 2nd Straight Win

Lightning Earn 7th Shutout of Season Over Bulldogs

BOWIE, Md. - Using a complete team effort, the Goldey-Beacom College women's tennis team earned its seventh shutout of the season by posting a 9-0 non-conference victory over Bowie State University (6-9) at the Bulldogs' Campus Courts on Monday afternoon.

The Lightning, who improved to 12-5 on the season, won its second straight match while recording their first shutout since Mar. 31 against Shippensburg.

After claiming all three doubles matches in convincing fashion, the Lightning won all six singles matches in straight sets, including a 6-0, 6-0 victory at number two singles by junior Stephanie Puentes Robinson (Bogota, Colombia).

The Lightning, who have won at least 12 matches for the fourth time in the last five years, will travel to Kutztown for their regular season finale on Wednesday, Apr. 16 at 3:30 p.m.
