LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. - Senior utility player Roni Peters (Leonardtown H.S./Leonardtown, Md.) scored six runs and tallied seven runs batted in as Goldey-Beacom College (7-20) used a record-setting performance to sweep a non-conference doubleheader over Lincoln University (0-17) at the Lincoln University Softball Complex on Friday afternoon.

The Lightning, who posted their second doubleheader sweep of the season, broke a school record with a 26-0 five-inning victory over the Lions in the first game before posting a 19-2 triumph in a five-inning affair.

Led by Peters, the Lightning set a school record for runs scored in a game with their win in the first game. The Lightning broke the previous mark of 22 runs, which was posted in a 22-2 victory over Keystone College on Mar. 1, 2008.

Peters, who went three-for-five in the doubleheader sweep, became the Lightning's all-time leader in career triples by recording her 10th career triple. With three triples in the second game, she also matched the Goldey-Beacom College single-season record and has six triples this year.

Meanwhile, senior infielder Ashley Zaccaria (Gloucester City H.S./Gloucester City, N.J.) had four hits in the doubleheader while scoring five runs with five runs batted in. She posted a double and a triple in the first game.

Senior outfielder Michelle Foster (Overbrook H.S./West Berlin, N.J.) added six runs scored with three runs batted in while freshman outfielder Charlee King (Hodgson Vo-Tech H.S./New Castle, Del.) drove in five runs while contributing a four-for-five performance with three runs scored.

Freshman utility player Amber Wroble (Chopticon H.S./Mechanicsville, Md.) tallied seven runs batted in for the Lightning in the first game while going one-for-two with three runs scored.

The Lightning, who are in the middle of a 13-game road trip, will resume their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference schedule on Saturday, Apr. 12 by traveling to Felician College. Due to the threat of inclement weather, the doubleheader has been moved from a 12 p.m. start to a 2 p.m. start.
