Box Score Bowie, Md.- For the third time this season, the Lightning women's volleyball (14-16, 7-12 CACC) team defeated the Bowie State University Bulldogs (7-21, 3-13 CIAA) in three sets. The set scores on Thursday nights affair were 25-12, 25-12, and 25-19.
The Lightning were led by junior middle hitter
Innocent Early (Eastside H.S./ Newark, N.J.) who posted nine kills in 13 attack attempts with only one early which was good for a game .615 hitting percentage, Early's highest total of the season. Other standout stars for the Lightning were
Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./ Dallastown, Pa.) who posted a game high 11 kills to go along with seven digs and Danielle Cipilletti (Scottsdale H.S./ Scottsdale Ariz.) who tallied 23 assists in the win.
This is the 22
nd time this season McCoy has tallied at least 10 kills in a match and the 26
th time Cipolletti has tallied at least 20 assists in a contest this season.
With 14 wins on the season, the Lightning match their best win total since the 2011 season when they also posted 14 wins.
With the final game of the season complete, the Lightning will miss five seniors who made a phenomenal impact on the women's volleyball program.
Kadi McCoy finished her career as the all-time Goldey-Beacom kills record holder with 1412. A record that should stand for quite some time, as no one on the current roster is within the top ten in the category. McCoy also will leave as the record holder for kills per set (3.39), attack attempts (4088), sets played (416), and a tie for first in matches played (116).
Nicole Receveur (Condord H.S./ Wilmington, Del.) finished in the top-five with a fourth place finish on the all-time digs record list with 1,221 digs in her career, sixth in digs per set (3.15), eight in sets played (338) and sixth in matches played (111).
Taylor Moyer (Blue Mountain H.S./ Schuylkil Haven, Pa.) finishes her career as the all-time block assists leader with 157. She also finishes in fourth place on the total blocks list with 209. Moyer also finishes with the fourth highest kill total in school history with 756.
Daphne Bistrimovich (Freehold H.S./ Freehold, N.J.) played in 89 matches for head coach
Richard Bowers over the past four years tallying 97 kills, 110 assists, and 324 digs in 294 career sets.
Roni Peters (Leonardtown H.S./ Leonardtown, Md.) a four year letter winner for the women's softball team played two season under coach Bowers and made an immediate impact on the lineup tallying 98 kills, 41 service aces, 471 assists, and 412 digs in 197 sets.
