BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Senior
Stephanie Puentes Robinson (Bogota, Colombia) became the first Goldey-Beacom College women's tennis player to record 50 career singles victories, but it was not enough as the Lightning (6-1, 3-1) saw their six-match win streak end with a 5-3 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss against five-time defending champion Concordia College (3-0, 3-0) at the Meyers Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
Puentes Robinson accounted for two of the Lightning's three victories against the Clippers. After teaming with sophomore
Amina Mrad (Berlin, Germany) to earn an 8-5 victory at number two doubles, Puentes Robinson posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory over
Alla Kravchuk at number three singles for the 50th singles victory of her career.
Meanwhile, sophomore
Nina Sengl (Puchheim, Germany) and senior
Anastasia Melnikova (Vladivostok, Russia) paired together to post an 8-6 victory at number three doubles.
