Women’s Tennis wraps up CACC schedule with 9-0 win against Post

Lightning Set School Record with Fourth Consecutive 9-0 Win

Wilmington, De. –
For the first time in school history, the Lightning Women's tennis team recorded their fourth straight 9-0 win over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent, Post University (0-8, 0-6 CACC).

The Lightning swept all three doubles matches, including a pair of 8-0 victories by the teams of Filipa Correia (Monte Estoril, Portugal) and Laura Moreno (Murcia, Spain) as well as Anastasia Melnikova (Vladivostok, Russia) and Nina Sengl (Puchheim, Germany).

With her 41st career doubles win, Correia moved into a tie for second place on the all the time doubles win list with current senior, Stephanie Puentes Robinson (Bogota, Colombia) who was idle today due to injury.

Freshman, Francesca Beg (Westbury, Wiltshire, England) improved to 4-1 on her freshman campaign with a 6-0, 6-0 win at number five singles.

With the win, the Lightning, led by coach Joe Kissel, will enter the CACC playoffs as a number two seed as they look to improve on last year's early exit in the semifinal round. This will be the 7th consecutive trip to the CACC playoffs for the Lightning.
