Richardson Leads Lightning for 2nd Meet in a Row

Philadelphia Metro Meet Results: PDF

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Led by a 42nd place finish by freshman Ariel Richardson (St. George's Tech H.S./New Castle, Del.), the Goldey-Beacom College women's cross country team competed at the 34th Annual Philadelphia Metropolitan Cross Country Championships at Belmont Plateau on Saturday afternoon.

Richardson, who was the Lightning's top finisher for the second meet in a row, completed the 5K race in a time of 23 minutes, 53 seconds.

Meanwhile, senior Ashley Zaccaria (Gloucester H.S./Gloucester City, N.J.) followed in 63rd place by crossing the finish line in a time of 26:10. Sophomore Sarah Gryzbowski (Concord H.S./Wilmington, Del.) turned in a time of 26:24 to earn 66th place while senior Tigan Frisby (Mount Pleasant H.S./Claymont, Del.) finished in 79th place in 31 minutes, 37 seconds.

The Lightning will compete at the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 28 hosted by Salisbury University.
