NEWARK, Del. – Led by redshirt freshman Ariel Richardson (St. George's Tech H.S./New Castle, Del.), the Goldey-Beacom College women's cross country team finished in 10th place among Division II and Division III teams at the University of Delaware Invitational held at White Clay Creek State Park on Saturday afternoon.

Gettysburg University claimed the Division II/III title after scoring 33 points while Saint Vincent (Pa.) and Delaware TC shared second place after tallying 91 points.

Richardson, who was competing in just her second college meet, posted a time of 28 minutes, 3 seconds. Meanwhile, senior Carly Mitchell (Elkton H.S./Elkton, Md.) finished in 79th place by crossing the finish line in a time of 29:33.

Senior Ashley Zaccaria (Gloucester H.S./Gloucester City, N.J.) turned in a time of 31 minutes, 4 seconds to finish in 90th place while sophomore Sarah Grzybowski (Concord H.S./Wilmington, Del.) followed in 95th place with a time of 31:26.

Sophomore Leshae Lee (Joppatowne H.S./Edgewood, Md.) turned in a time of 35 minutes, 12 seconds to earn 110th place while senior Tigan Frisby (Mount Pleasant H.S./Claymont, Del.) had a time of 37:35 for a 116th place finish.

The Lightning will compete at the Philadelphia Metro Classic on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 12 p.m.
