WATERBURY, Conn. - For the second consecutive match, the Goldey-Beacom College women's tennis team used a complete effort to shut out its opponent as the Lightning (2-0, 1-0) earned a 9-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Post University (0-2, 0-2) at Chase Collegiate School on Friday afternoon.

The Lightning, who also claimed a 9-0 victory over Molloy in the season opener last week, allowed the Eagles to win just two games in the singles matches en route to the win.

Junior Stephanie Puentes Robinson (Bogota, Colombia) extended her singles win streak to six consecutive matches after a 6-0, 6-0 victory over freshman Hannah Glowacki (Tiverton H.S./Tiverton, R.I.) at number one singles. She also teamed up with senior Gabriela Chaves (Joao Pessoa - PB, Brazil) for an 8-0 triumph at number two doubles.

Meanwhile, Chaves earned a 6-0, 6-0 decision at number four singles over sophomore Colleen Rush (Sacred Heart H.S./Waterbury, Conn.).

Junior Filipa Correia (Lisboa, Portugal) posted a 6-2, 6-0 win at number two singles after teaming with freshman Maria Angeles Victoria Martinez (Totana, Spain) for an 8-0 victory at number three doubles.

Freshman Nina Sengl (Puchheim, Germany) paired up with senior Rocio Cabanillas Moreno (Sevilla, Spain) for an 8-0 victory at number one singles before blanking sophomore Julia Brazdzionis (Crosby H.S./Waterbury, Conn.) by a 6-0, 6-0 count at number three singles.

Junior Anastasia Melnikova (Vladivostok, Russia) and freshman Raquel Santos (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) also claimed a singles win at the number five and number six positions, respectively.

The Lightning will play their second straight road match on Monday afternoon when they visit West Chester for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference match against the Golden Rams.
