Lightning to Play Fifth Straight Road Match to Open Season

Mackenzie Wilson and the Lightning will finish their five-match road trip on Tuesday night.

WILMINGTON, Del. - Looking to finish its season-opening five-match road trip on a winning note, the Goldey-Beacom College volleyball team will travel to Cheyney University on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. non-conference match against the Wolves.

Live stats for the match will be available on Cheyney's official athletics website or by clicking here.

Currently 0-4 on the season, the Lightning opened their season by competing at the Tony Banner Invitational hosted by Clarion University last weekend.

Junior outside hitter Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) led the Lightning by posting 31 kills in the four matches while contributing 17 digs. Meanwhile, freshman Kim Matlock (Jackson Memorial H.S./Jackson, N.J.) also had an impressive opening weekend by leading the Lightning with 45 assists and 10 service aces.

After having its season opener against Virginia University of Lynchburg canceled on Friday, the Wolves will be looking to open their season on a winning note when they host Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday night.

The Wolves had a 0-30 record last year, but will have a veteran roster for this season which includes four seniors.

After Tuesday's match, the Lightning will open their home schedule and their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference slate by welcoming Georgian Court University to the Jones Center for a 7 p.m. match on Thursday night.
