Off to an 0-2-0 start, the Lightning will be playing their third match in five days to begin the season. After dropping a 2-1 decision against Shippensburg University on Friday night, the Lightning suffered a 5-0 setback against the University of the District of Columbia on Sunday afternoon.
Senior midfielder
Andre Jank (Campo Grande, Brazil) scored the Lightning's lone goal against Shippensburg on Friday night when he gave Goldey-Beacom a 1-0 lead just five minutes into the match. Meanwhile, senior goalkeeper
Carlos Meinhard (Caracas, Venezuela) has made 16 saves in the Lightning's first two matches, which leads the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.
Opening its season on Tuesday, Lock Haven will be looking to improve on a 6-10-1 campaign last year, including a 2-7-0 mark in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. Sophomore
Jacob Oldaker (West Perry H.S./Elliotsburg, Pa.) scored a team-high six goals with two assists last year en route to being named as the PSAC Freshman of the Year.
Coach
Doug Moore will have three of his top five scorers from last year's team back for this season, giving the Eagles some offensive firepower.
After Tuesday's match, the Lightning will open their CACC schedule by visiting Caldwell College on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m.
