Women's Cross Country Finishes Season at NCAA Regionals

Richardson Leads Lightning at East Championship

Ariel Richardson was the Lightning's top finisher at the NCAA East Region Championship on Sunday.

BOSTON, Mass. - Led by redshirt freshman Ariel Richardson (St. George's Tech H.S./New Castle, Del.), the Goldey-Beacom College women's cross country team competed at the 2013 NCAA Division II East Regional Championship at Franklin Park on Sunday afternoon.

Richardson finished in 111th place with a time of 26 minutes, 4 seconds. It marked the eighth time in nine races that she was the Lightning's top finisher.

Meanwhile, senior Carly Mitchell (Elkton H.S./Elkton, Md.) followed in 163rd place after completing the 6K race in a time of 28:39 while senior Ashley Zaccaria (Gloucester City H.S./Gloucester City, N.J.) posted a time of 28:42 to finish in 164th place.

Sophomore Sarah Grzybowski (Concord H.S./Wilmington, Del.) completed the Lightning's entries by placing 165th with a time of 28:43.
