WILMINGTON, Del. – Junior midfielder
Christopher Walsh (Baldwin Senior H.S./Baldwin, N.Y.) scored two goals and added two assists as Dominican College (5-4-1, 3-2-0) erupted for four goals in the second half en route to a 6-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (2-8-1, 1-4-1) at the Lightning's Nancy Churchman-Sawin Field on Saturday afternoon.
The win allowed the Chargers to end a three-match losing streak while extending the Lightning's winless streak to three matches.
Junior midfielder
Nicholas Mavilla (Shelton H.S./Shelton, Conn.) gave the Chargers an early 1-0 lead when he scored off a pass from senior midfielder
Sony Narro (Westhill H.S./Stamford, Conn.) for his first goal of the season.
With 1:27 left in the first half, Walsh upped the Chargers' advantage to 2-0 when he scored his first goal of the season, an unassisted marker from 19 yards on a free kick. Just over four minutes into the second half, he added a second goal after heading in a crossing pass from senior forward
Jorge Zubillaga (Punta del Este, Uruguay).
Zubillaga increased the margin to 4-0 in the 56th minute when he scored on a quick shot from eight yards after Walsh sent a crossing pass into the penalty area.
Just under four minutes later, Narro tallied his second goal of the season to give Dominican a 5-0 cushion when he put in a rebound of a shot by Mavilla. Zubillaga added his second goal of the match six minutes later for a 6-0 advantage.
The Lightning ended the Chargers' shutout bid in the 76th minute when graduate student forward
Kyle Lawrence (Smyrna H.S./Smyrna, Del.) scored off an assist from senior midfielder
William Miller (Meadowcreek H.S./Norcross, Ga.) for his first goal of the season.
While Walsh led the Chargers with his six-point performance, Zubillaga added two goals and an assist for the Chargers, who outshot the Lightning by a 15-12 margin.

Andres Ruiz (Medelin, Colombia) made six saves in 76 minutes before being relieved by freshman
Steven Hegner (North Rockland H.S./Pomona, N.Y.), who did not record a save.

The Lightning, who were playing their third match in six days, will be idle until Thursday, Oct. 10 when they visit West Chester for a 3 p.m. non-conference match against the Golden Rams.
