PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Sophomore middle hitter
Caitlyn Crawford (Covington H.S./Covington, Ohio) recorded 10 kills with a .421 hitting percentage and added five blocks as the University of the Sciences (5-12, 1-4) earned its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory of the season, a three-set win over Goldey-Beacom College (4-9, 0-5) at the Devils' Bobby Morgan Arena on Friday evening.
The Devils, who earned their 11th win over the Lightning in the last 13 meetings, claimed the victory by set scores of 25-22, 25-13 and 25-16.
Crawford, who recorded just two attack errors in 19 attempts, was one of two Devils to record double-digit kills as junior outside hitter
Amanda DeAngelo (Vestal H.S./Vestal, N.Y.) added 10 kills with a .333 hitting percentage and four digs. She also earned 2 of the Devils' 10 service aces.
Meanwhile, junior setter
Kaileen Bevenour (Washington Township H.S./Sicklerville, N.J.) tallied a match-high 29 assists for the Devils, who hit .333 as a team.
Junior outside hitter
Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) led the Lightning in the loss by posting a match-high 14 kills with five digs while sophomore defensive specialist
Mackenzie Wilson (Concord H.S./Wilmington, Del.) tallied a team-high 11 digs.
The Lightning, who have lost four of their last five matches, will return home on Saturday, Oct. 5 to face defending CACC champion Dominican College in their annual Homecoming match at 1 p.m.
