PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Junior Anastasia Melnikova (Vladivostok, Russia) and freshman Nina Sengl (Puchheim, Germany) each won a singles match, but it was not enough as the Goldey-Beacom College women's tennis team suffered its second loss in the last three matches with a 7-2 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss against Chestnut Hill College (7-1, 6-0) on Wednesday afternoon.

Melnikova earned a tough three-set victory over sophomore Axe Owens (Pennington School/Trenton, N.J.) at number six singles while Sengl tallied a three-set win at number five singles against junior Morgan Oechsle (Southern Lehigh H.S./Coopersburg, Pa.).

The Lightning, who are in the middle of playing four matches in a six-day span, will continue their quick two-match road trip on Thursday, Oct. 3 when they travel to Georgian Court University for a 3:30 p.m. match against the Lions.
