PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Junior Linda Eliasson (Gothenburg, Sweden) overcame a 4-2 third set deficit to earn a three-set victory at number two singles as defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference champion Concordia College (8-1) rallied from a three-point deficit to earn a 5-4 victory over third-seeded Goldey-Beacom College (7-3) in the second semifinal of the 2013 CACC Women's Tennis Championship at Chestnut Hill College on Saturday afternoon.

The second-seeded Clippers, who are trying to win their fifth consecutive CACC title, had to rally from a 4-1 deficit to beat the Lightning, who suffered their second one-point loss in the semifinals in as many years. Goldey-Beacom suffered a 5-4 loss against Chestnut Hill in last year's semifinal.

After claiming a 6-3 victory in the first set against senior Rocio Cabanillas Moreno (Sevilla, Spain), Eliasson dropped the second set by a 6-3 margin. Cabanillas Moreno, who received second team All-CACC notice on Friday night, built a 4-2 advantage in the third set before the match was moved indoors due to darkness.

From there, Eliasson won four straight games to clinch the match and the deciding point for the Clippers.

Freshman Maria Angeles Victoria Martinez (Totana, Spain) earned a pair of victories in the match to lead the Lightning. She posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory at number three singles after teaming with junior Stephanie Puentes Robinson (Bogota, Colombia) for an 8-3 triumph at number two doubles.

Meanwhile, junior Anastasia Melnikova (Vladivostok, Russia) collected a 6-0, 6-0 victory at number six singles while junior Filipa Correia (Lisboa, Portugal) and senior Gabriela Chaves (Joao Pessoa-PB, Brazil) teamed up to earn an 8-1 verdict at number three doubles.

The Lightning, who were making their sixth consecutive appearance in the CACC Tournament, will complete their Fall schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at New York Institute of Technology at 3 p.m.
