NEWARK, Del. - Junior defender
Sam Fahnboto (Bensalem H.S./Philadelphia, Pa.) and freshman forward
Jordon Ellison (Stroudsburg H.S./Stroudsburg, Pa.) each scored a goal as Wilmington University (10-3-1, 6-2-1) earned its second straight win, a 2-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (2-11-1, 1-6-1) at the Wilmington University Athletics Complex on Wednesday afternoon.
The Wildcats, who earned their ninth consecutive win over the Lightning, scored a goal in each half en route to the victory. Meanwhile, the Lightning suffered their fourth loss in a row.
Fahnboto gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute when headed in a corner kick from freshman midfielder
Geoff Velasquez (William Penn H.S./New Castle, Del.) for his first goal of the season.
In the 57th minute, Ellison upped the Wildcats' advantage to 2-0 by scoring his second goal of the season off an assist from senior forward
Tommy Quaranta (Perry Hall H.S./Baltimore, Md.).
From there, the Wildcats were able to limit the Lightning to just one shot over the final 33 minutes despite playing with just 10 men on the field after Ellison earned a pair of yellow cards.
Led by junior goalkeeper
Spyros Stergiotis (Oakville, Ontario, Canada), the Wildcats held Goldey-Beacom to just five shots. Stergiotis, who posted his second consecutive shutout, made two saves in the win.

Carlos Meinhard (Caracas, Venezuela) tallied seven saves in the loss for the Lightning.
The Lightning, who are winless in their last six matches, will return to Nancy Churchman-Sawin Field on Saturday, Oct. 19 to host Bloomfield College in a CACC match-up at 1 p.m. Meanwhile, the Wildcats will host Dominican on Saturday in their final home game of the regular season.
