LYNDHURST, N.J. - Junior midfielder Rafa Coronel (Mexico City, Mexico) scored the game-winning goal with 8:21 remaining in regulation as Felician College (2-8-1, 2-5-1) overcame a 1-0 deficit in the first half to snap a four-game losing streak with a 2-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (2-10-1, 1-5-1) at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex on Saturday evening.

The victory allowed the Golden Falcons to earn their first win since a 2-0 verdict against Nyack on Sept. 24. Meanwhile, the loss extended the Lightning's winless streak to five consecutive matches.

Coronel gave the Golden Falcons their only lead of the game when he took a pass from junior defender Alex Jean (Notre Dame de Londres, France) and scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season.

From there, the Golden Falcons held off the Lightning to earn the victory.

The Lightning took a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute when senior midfielder Andre Jank (Campo Grande, Brazil) tallied his team-leading fifth goal of the season off an assist from junior forward Luiz Ristow (Joinville, Brazil).

Goldey-Beacom held its one-goal lead until the 81st minute when junior forward Chris Hall (Newcastle, England) scored his first goal of the season after receiving a pass from senior midfielder Azedine Maazouzi (Brussels, Belgium).

Senior goalkeeper Daniel Wroblewski (Brick Township H.S./Brick, N.J.) made six saves in the victory for Felician, which outshot Goldey-Beacom by an 18-14 margin.

Senior goalkeeper Carlos Meinhard (Caracas, Venezuela) tallied five saves in the loss for the Lightning, who were playing their second game in three days.

The Lightning will finish their three-game road trip on Wednesday, Oct. 16 when they visit Wilmington University for a 3:30 p.m. CACC contest. Meanwhile, the Golden Falcons will travel to Concordia on Wednesday.
