WILMINGTON, Del. – Junior outside hitter
Amanda DeAngelo (Vestal H.S./Vestal, N.Y.) tallied a match-high 13 kills and added eight digs as the University of the Sciences (7-14, 3-5) snapped a two-match losing streak with a three-set Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference sweep over Goldey-Beacom College (4-12, 0-8) at the Lightning's Joseph West Jones College Center on Friday night.
The Devils, who earned their second win over the Lightning in an eight-day span, posted the victory by set scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 25-19.
DeAngelo, who hit .308 in the match, was the lone player to record 10 or more kills in the match. She also added three service aces and an assist.
Meanwhile, junior setter
Kaileen Bevenour (Washington Township H.S./Sicklerville, N.J.) contributed 19 assists with three digs while sophomore libero
Nicole Rivera (Our Lady of Mercy H.S./Pittsford, N.Y.) tallied a match-high 23 digs with two service aces.
Senior opposite
Roni Peters (Leonardtown H.S./Leonardtown, Md.) led the Lightning in the loss by posting a "double double" with 20 assists and 11 digs. She also contributed three blocks.
The Lightning, who dropped their sixth straight match, will travel to Nyack College on Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. CACC match against the Warriors. Meanwhile, the Devils visit Post University on Saturday.
