PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Sophomore outside hitter
Emma Herring (Newtown H.S./Newtown, Conn.) tallied a match-high 19 kills and added 10 digs as Holy Family University (6-8, 3-2) earned its second win in a row, a four-set Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (4-8, 0-4) at the Tigers' Campus Center Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.
The Tigers, who earned their 13th straight win over the Lightning, posted the victory by set scores of 25-19, 19-25, 28-26 and 25-16.
Herring, who also contributed four service aces in the victory, posted a .239 hitting percentage while sophomore right side hitter
Rachel Johnson (Lincoln Way West H.S./New Lenox, Ill.) added 15 kills and an impressive .419 hitting percentage with just two attack errors. Johnson also had 11 digs for the Tigers.
In addition, senior setter
Chelsea Keegan (Colonel Crawford H.S./Bucyrus, Ohio) added a "double double" with a match-high 47 assists and 11 digs.
Junior outside hitter
Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) led the Lightning in the loss with 16 kills and 10 digs while junior outside hitter
Taylor Moyer (Blue Mountain H.S./Schuylkill Haven, Pa.) added nine kills with a .360 hitting percentage.
The Lightning, who have lost three of their last four matches, will wrap up their four-match road trip on Friday, Oct. 4 when they visit the University of the Sciences at 7 p.m.
