WILMINGTON, Del. - After opening the season with a convincing 9-0 victory over Molloy College, the Lightning women's tennis team will begin its home schedule on Sunday, Sept. 9 by hosting Philadelphia University at DelCastle Tennis Center at 1 p.m. It will also be the Lightning's first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match of the season.
Now 1-0 on the season, the Lightning earned the victory over the Lions without losing a set. In addition, the Lightning also did not lose a single game in number two and number six singles.
Sophomore
Stephanie Puentes Robinson will be looking to extend her streak of five consecutive singles victories, dating back to last season. She posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory in the season opener against Molloy and has a 14-2 career record.

Blanca Sancho to earn a 9-7 victory at number one doubles against Molloy. Named as the team captain earlier this week, Sancho also has a five-match singles win streak, dating back to last season. She enters Sunday's match ranked fourth in school history with 24 career singles wins while her 27 doubles wins are good for second in school history.
Off to a 2-1 start to the season, the Rams enter Sunday's match looking to rebound from an 8-1 loss against Chestnut Hill on Thursday afternoon. The Rams opened the season with a 6-3 victory over Molloy on Aug. 31 before an identical 6-3 triumph against Holy Family in their home opener on Sept. 6.
Junior
Isabella Espinosa is off to a 2-1 start this season as the Rams' number one singles player while posting a 1-2 at number one doubles. She posted a 7-7 singles record last year, including a 5-3 mark against CACC opponents.
After Sunday's match, the Lightning will travel to the University of the Sciences on Tuesday afternoon for a 3 p.m. CACC match against the Devils.
