McCoy, Townsend Record "Double Double" Efforts in Loss

RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Freshman middle blocker Olivia Emerson (TMCC H.S./Sparks, Nev.) recorded a match-high 23 kills and added 21 digs as Felician College (1-9, 1-3) earned its first win of the season, a three-set Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (4-8, 0-4) at the Job Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Falcons, who snapped a 42-match losing streak with the victory, held off a late rally by the Lightning to earn a 25-22, 20-25, 25-20, 23-25, 18-16 win.

While Emerson led the Golden Falcons with a "double double" effort, freshman middle blocker Kayla Gallagher (Pine Bush H.S./Bloomingburg, N.Y.) contributed a season-high 23 kills and a .396 hitting percentage. Senior outside hitter Jenna Matesic (Paramus H.S./Paramus, N.J.) added a "double double" by posting 14 kills and 20 digs.

Freshman setter Susan McKeever (North Fort Myers H.S./North Fort Myers, Fla.) also had a "double double" with 19 assists and 14 digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) led the Lightning in the loss by posting her second straight "double double" with 17 kills and 16 digs. Meanwhile, freshman setter Jamika Townsend (King's Fork H.S./Suffolk, Va.) also tallied a "double double" with a season-high 30 assists and 11 digs.

Sophomore defensive specialist Niki Receveur (Concord H.S./Wilmington, Del.) added a season-high 20 digs for the Lightning, who hit .129 in the loss.

The Lightning will travel to Holy Family University on Friday night for a 7 p.m. CACC match against the Tigers.
