VINELAND, N.J. – Led by senior
Elizabeth Williams (A.I. duPont H.S./Wilmington, Del.), the Goldey-Beacom College women's cross country team finished in third place at the Dukes Invitational hosted by Cumberland County College on Saturday morning.
Williams posted a time of 23 minutes, 3 seconds in the 5K race while junior
Carly Mitchell (Elkton H.S./Elkton, Md.) finished in 14th place by completing the race in 23 minutes, 30 seconds. Senior
Felicia Justice (Clearfield H.S./West Point, Utah) placed 15th out of 41 runners by crossing the finish line with a time of 23:48.
Freshman
Sarah Grzybowski (Concord H.S./Wilmington, Del.) added an 18th place effort with a time of 23:52 while freshman
Valarie Orth (Schalick H.S./Pittsgrove, N.J.) was 22nd with a time of 25:07.
Senior
Alyssa Murray (Hodgson Vo-Tech H.S./Townsend, Del.) posted a time of 25:17 to finish in 23rd place while freshman
Leshae Lee had a 29th place effort with a time of 27:37.
Junior
Tigan Frisby (Mount Pleasant H.S./Claymont, Del.) and freshman
Samia Blassengale (Delcastle H.S./Newark, Del.) finished in 31st and 35th places, respectively.
The Lightning will compete at the Philadelphia Metro Championship next Saturday at 12 p.m.
