Volleyball Suffers Three-Set Loss to Georgian Court

Moyer Leads Lightning With 10 Kills and .350 Hitting Percentage

Taylor Moyer posted 10 kills for the fifth time in six matches this season on Tuesday night.

WILMINGTON, Del. – Sophomore middle hitter Tatiana Villariny Rodriguez (Rio Grande, P.R.) recorded a match-high 14 kills and hit .619 as Georgian Court University (3-4, 1-1) earned its second straight win, a three-set Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (3-3, 0-1) at the Joseph West Jones College Center on Tuesday evening.

Led by Villariny Rodriguez, the Lions hit a season-high .472 in the victory, including a .682 hitting percentage in the first set, while matching a season low with 10 attack errors. The Lions won the match by scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 25-14.

Senior outside hitter Amy Berry (Manchester Regional H.S./Bayville, N.J.) contributed 10 kills and a .389 hitting percentage while sophomore setter Jaslene Lopez (Coamo, P.R.) added 42 assists with four digs and two service aces.

Sophomore outside hitter Taylor Moyer (Blue Mountain H.S./Schuylkill Haven, Pa.) led the Lightning with 10 kills and a .350 hitting percentage while senior middle hitter Catherine Howard (William Penn H.S./New Castle, Del.) hit .500 with seven kills.

The Lightning matched a season low by recording just 14 attack errors and hit over .200 as a team for the second straight match.

Goldey-Beacom will start a three-match road trip on Thursday evening when they travel to Bowie State to face the Lady Bulldogs for the third time this season. The Lightning have already earned a pair of four-set victories against Bowie State this year.
