Boxscore

TAKOMA PARK, MD - Sophomore guard A.J. Picard scored 16 points and postgraduate forward Rich Fleming recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough for Goldey-Beacom College in an 88-66, non-conference setback to Washington Adventist University at the Pitt in Suburban D.C. Senior forwards Marcus Coleman (27 points,12 rebounds) and Brandon Washington (23, 6) combined for 50 points on 22-of-30 shooting as the Shock (9-11) improved to 3-0 against Delaware schools this season. The Lightning (11-8) - which saw its four-game winning streak come to an end - trailed 35-26 at halftime and 43-37 four minutes into the final period when the hosts embarked on a 22-7 run to blow it open, 65-44 with 8:31 to play. Goldey-Beacom came no closer than
15 points the rest of the way in absorbing its most lopsided loss of the season. Tariq Uqdah scored 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting in a losing effort, while freshman guard Marcus Porter also reached double figures with 10 points.

The Lightning - which is tied for first place in the CACC South at 8-2 - made twice as many 3-pointers (6-3) but was outshot from the field overall, 59%-43%. They will next be in action Saturday in a marquee game vs. North Division leader Bloomfield at the Jones Center. Tip-off is 3:00 pm.
