WILMINGTON, Del.
- After dropping a heart-breaking 4-3 overtime loss against Bloomfield on Tuesday night, the Lightning men's soccer team will look to rebound on Thursday night with a non-conference match at Bloomsburg University. Opening kick-off between the Huskies and the Lightning is slated for 7 p.m. at the Sports Stadium.

It will be the third match in a four-match road trip for the Lightning, who have played four of their last six matches away from home.

Now 4-12-0 on the season, the Lightning built a 3-2 lead in the second half against the Deacons on Tuesday night before falling in overtime in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference season finale. Freshman midfielder Michael Harmon (Cape Henlopen H.S./Milton, Del.) and senior midfielder Matt Bik (Sacred Heart H.S./Vineland, N.J.) gave the Lightning a 2-1 lead by scoring back-to-back goals in a 15-minute span.

After the Deacons tied the match in the 62nd minute, junior forward Thatcher Howell (Salesianum H.S./Wilmington, Del.) regained the Lightning's advantage with his third goal of the season. But, the Deacons battled back to earn the victory in the first two minutes of the overtime period.

Howell leads the Lightning with nine points and is tied for the team lead with Harmon and Jank with three goals. Meanwhile, Jank has posted eight points with three goals and two assists. Senior goalkeeper Ignacio Farias (Maracay, Venezuela) has posted a 3.29 goals against average while stopping 63.4 per cent of the shots he has faced. He also leads the CACC with 78 saves.

With a 7-8-1 record, the Huskies will enter Thursday's match against the Lightning trying to snap a two-match losing streak after dropping a 3-1 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference decision against West Chester on Saturday afternoon. Junior midfielder Fran Miller (Central Bucks East H.S./Doylestown, Pa.) scored in the 58th minute for the Huskies to narrow the deficit to 2-1, but Bloomsburg was unable to even the score against the Golden Rams.

Miller is the Huskies' leading scorer with seven goals and three assists while senior forward Bryce Shaffer (Gettysburg H.S./Gettysburg, Pa.) has contributed five goals with two assists. Shaffer also leads the Huskies with two game-winning goals this year.

Junior goalkeeper Bernie Roell (Daniel Boone H.S./Douglassville, Pa.) has started seven matches for the Huskies this season and has a 1.97 goals against average with a .696 save percentage. He made five saves against West Chester on Saturday afternoon, including four in the second half.

The Lightning will be looking to avenge last year's 2-0 loss against the Huskies at Nancy Churchman-Sawin Field, which also spoiled Goldey-Beacom's Senior Day. The Huskies scored once in each half to earn the victory.

After Thursday night's match, the Lightning will finish the 2012 season on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Howard University for a 5 p.m. match against the Bison.
