Goldey-Beacom Falls to Felican

RUTHERFORD, NJ

Boxscore

The Lightning fall to 4-1, in the CACC, with a loss at Felican College on Saturday.  With the Loss the Lightning are an even 6-6 on the season, the win moves Felican to 5-7 overall having won 5 out of their last 6 games.

Despite the fact that Goldey-Beacom took a 1-point lead into the half they never really had a rhythm.  The first half ended with a score of 33-32 with the Lightning in the lead.  A.J. Picard led the Lightning with 10 points while Tariq Uqdah chipped in with 8.  As a team the Lightning shot 50% from the floor but gave up 10 offensive rebounds to keep Felican in the game.

The second half went back and forth as the lead changed 6 times over the final 20 minutes of action.  After a lay-up by Freshmen Marcus Porter gave the Lightning their biggest lead of the half with 7:21 remaining they would only muster 4 points the rest of the way, allowing Felican to come back for the victory.

The cold shooting in the second half (7-21, 24%) would be too much to overcome as Felican came away with the 61-60 win.  A.J. Picard and Marcus Porter led the way for the Lightning with 16 points apiece.  The Lightning look to bounce back Tuesday at the University of the Sciences.
