PHILADELPHIA - The Goldey-Beacom College women's cross country team sent a limited roster to Saturday afternoon's Philly Metro Meet, hosted by Cabrini College. Junior Elizabeth Williams led the Lightning with a 34th place overall finish and a time of 23:20.

GBC was scheduled to compete in the Steven's Institute of Technology Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park, but that race was cancelled due to rain. The Lightning instead ran in the Philly Metro Meet with four runners on Saturday.

Also finishing for GBC were sophomores Carly Mitchell (31:17) and Tigan Frisby (32:41) and newcomer Shanay Snead (34:34).

The Lightning will next compete in the Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury University. Last year at this race, GBC ran the school's second fastest team 6K time in the school's history.
