Liz Williams Leads Lightning With 6th Place Finish

BRONX, N.Y. - The Goldey-Beacom College women's cross country team finished in eighth place out of 11 teams in the Baruch College 6K Invitational at Van Cortland Park on Sunday.

Junior Elizabeth Williams paced the Lightning with a time of 29:20 - good for sixth place overall. Junior Alyssa Murray was next, coming in at 37th place with a time of 33:55.

Sophomore Symone Stewart opened her sophomore campaign with a 42nd place finish and a time of 34:54.

Just a little over five minutes later, sophomore Tigan Frisby came in at 40:05 for 67th place. Junior Jessica Heger, in her first-ever collegiate cross country meet, was the Lightning's fifth finisher with a time of 50:55 (76th overall).

The Lightning will compete in Cheyney University's "Running With the Wolves" meet on Wed., Sept. 14.
