PHILADELPHIA - The Goldey-Beacom College women's cross country team finished 11th of 13 teams in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships meet held at Belmont Plateau on Sun. morning.
The Lightning finished with a team score of 277, just 13 points behind 10th-place Holy Family and well ahead of 12th-place Caldwell (328) and last-place Concordia (363). PhilaU won its fourth consecutive title with a team score of 28. Wilmington was 2nd at 61, and Dominican was 3rd at 67. Georgian Court came in at 4th with a 121, and Nyack rounded out the top-five with a 160. USciences (175), Post (204) Felician (230) and Bloomfield (250) finished six-through-nine, respectively.
Junior
Elizabeth Williams paced the Lightning as she earned a personal record on the Belmont Course, improving 40 seconds from last year's CACC Championships meet with a time of 22:41.
The next runner in for GBC was sophomore
Carly Mitchell, who shattered her time from last year by five minutes and cracked the school's 15th all-time fastest times list with a 24:53. Classmate
Symone Stewart was right behind four seconds later as the duo finished 54th and 55th, respectively.
Junior
Alyssa Murray was the next Lightning runner in at 25:31. She improved her time from last year by 37 seconds. Also finishing for GBC was sophomore
Tigan Frisby, who came in at 28:31.
The Lightning conclude the season at the NCAA Regional meet on Nov. 5 in Boston.
