PIKE CREEK, Del. – The Goldey-Beacom College men's cross country team, led by freshman Stewart Reich (5th) and junior Ben Kinley (9th) took third of six as the host team of the Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic on a beautiful Sat. afternoon at Carousel Park.
The Lightning finished with a team score of 73, besting fourth-place Bloomfield College by 24 points and coming just seven points shy of second-place Wilmington University. 
University of the Sciences claimed first-place with a team score of 27. The top four teams in the six-team event came from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. Eastern University (101) and Lancaster Bible College (159) rounded out the scoring for the day.
The Devils featured seven runners in the top-15, including three of the top-five. Wilmington, meanwhile had three runners in the top-15, including the top overall finisher of the day, Bill Steele, who came in at 28:46.
GBC, which finished 4th of six at last year's GBC Fall Classic, was third of sixth this year and lowered its team point total by 16 points.
Reich, who has led the Lightning in every race this year, took 5th place with a time of 29:14. Kinley, who took third in this race last year with a time of 29:51, finished in 30:48 to take 9th place overall.
Freshman Hugo Morales was the third GBC runner in with a time of 31:30, good for 14th place. Sophomore David Zartler was the fourth at 32:42 and took 22nd place.
Junior Paul Graybeal was again the Lightning's fifth man with a time of 33:03, and was the very next runner to come in after Zartler for 23rd place. 
Freshman Jabari Chambers crossed the finish line in 34:25 (29th) followed by senior Trevor Freburger (34:50, 31st). Demetris Harding rounded out the GBC finishers with a time of 39:36 and took 39th.
