Sophomore Melanie Bonomo earned the deciding fifth point for GBC (11-1) at No. 4 singles as the No. 1-3 singles matches were halted, as per tournament rules.
The Lightning began singles play with a 2-1 advantage courtesy of two doubles wins by the No. 2 and 3 teams. Sophomore Blanca Sancho and freshman Gabriela Chaves earned an 8-5 win over Maja Pantelic and Chelsea Brown at No. 2, and sophomore Vanessa Leon and freshman Laura Cure defeated Linda Piecyk and Katie Cook, 8-2 at No. 3.

GBC will now face a Clipper team that is 16-0 in conference play since joining the league in 2009, including an 8-0 mark this season.
Concordia, the No. 1 seed in the tournament, defeated No. 4 Chestnut Hill, 5-0 earlier this afternoon to advance to the finals.
The finals match will begin Sat., Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. and will be hosted by Chestnut Hill College.
