NEWARK, Del. – Four Goldey-Beacom College women's cross country runners competed in the Blue-Gold Invitational 5K hosted by the University of Delaware at White Clay Creek State Park on Sat. afternoon, Oct. 16.
Sophomore Liz Williams was tops for GBC, who did not have the five necessary runners to qualify for a team score. Williams finished 55th with a time of 23:15 on the extremely hilly, White Clay course.
Next was senior Brittney Murray who crossed the line at 26:21 (69th), followed by her sister, sophomore Alyssa Murray at 26:54 (75th). Freshman Tigan Frisby rounded out the Lightning finishers with a time of 30:31 to take 81st.
Franklin & Marshall took the top team spot with a score of 52 and a total team time of 1:41:01. Philadelphia U. (58), West Chester (87), Gwynedd-Mercy (89) and Delaware Valley (94) rounded out the top-five in the Division II and III portion of the meet. Wilmington (114), District of Columbia (219), Lincoln (239) and Chestnut Hill (241) were 6th through nine, respectively.
Up next for the Lightning is the East Stroudsburg Invitational on Sat., Oct. 23. This is the last meet before the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships on Nov. 7.
