VINELAND, N.J. – The Goldey-Beacom College men's and women's cross country teams opened their seasons on the road Sat., Sept. 5, at the Cumberland County Community College Invitational. The men's team finished fourth out of seven and the women's team finished fourth out of eight.
On the women's side, freshman Elizabeth Williams led the Lightning with a time of 24:49, good for 12th place in the field. With that time, Williams is now the 13th fastest runner in school history.
The men featured three runners in the top-20, highlighted by sophomore Ben Kinley's eighth place finish with a time of 30:10. Freshman David Zartler followed for GBC with a time of 31:27 and 16th place finish and senior Senecca Curry placed 20th with a time of 31:40.
Next up for the GBC cross country teams is a meet at Baruch College on Sept. 13.
