JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Goldey-Beacom College women's cross country team placed fifth out of nine in the 4K race and eighth out of eight in the 6K race this past weekend at the Steven's Invitational at Liberty State Park.
The Lightning were paced by freshman Liz Williams ninth-place finish at 16:51, followed by freshman Alyssa Murray (24th) at 19:20. Junior Kaydean Hayden then finished at 39th with a time of 20:57, followed by Jessica Cato (46th) 23:18 and Myishea Hales (47th) 23:25.
GBC was led by junior Brittney Murray in the 6K race as Murray ran the ninth fastest 6K time in school history at 28:26.53. Up against stiff competition, she finished 36th overall. Junior Nitasia Dupree finished in 45th with a time of 31:37 and sophomore Marie Fountain did not finish.
